Read Me Right Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Read Me Right is an offline party game. It is built to work without knowing who you are.

Scope

This policy covers the iPhone app Read Me Right, published by PocketLark Studio (“we”, “us”), and this website. It describes the app as it is currently released.

No account needed

You do not create an account to play. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth, and there is no sign-in or profile.

Player names you type during setup are used only to display them during the round. They stay on your device.

No camera, no audio recording

Read Me Right is played out loud, face to face, with the phone passed around. The app does not request camera or microphone access and does not record audio or video.

Nothing you say or act out during a round is captured, stored, or sent anywhere. The app plays sound effects, but it never listens.

What stays on your device

Game data — such as your settings, the packs you own, and progress within a session — is stored locally on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes it.

In-app purchases

Optional in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled under Apple’s privacy policy; we never receive or store your payment card details.

We receive from Apple only what is needed to unlock what you bought and to restore it later. Refunds are handled by Apple — see our Support page.

Advertising (planned)

We intend to add advertising to a future version of Read Me Right. The advertising provider has not been selected yet, and the current version of the app does not display ads.

Advertising networks typically collect some device and usage information — for example a device advertising identifier, IP address, or general device characteristics — in order to serve and measure ads. When we add advertising we will:

Diagnostics

Apple may provide us with aggregated crash and usage statistics if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings. This comes from Apple in aggregate form and does not identify you. You can change this at any time under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements on your device.

We may add a crash-reporting tool in a future release. If we do, this page will be updated to say so.

Third parties

Today, the only third party involved in the app is Apple, for app distribution and in-app purchases. We do not sell or rent information about you to anyone.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP addresses to serve pages and protect the site.

Children

Read Me Right is a general-audience party game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Because the app has no account and keeps its data on your device, deleting the app removes the data it stored. For anything else — including questions about data protection rights in your region — email us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app changes, in particular when advertising is introduced. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
